Amber Capotosto has been working within the Food and Nutrition Services industry for over 20 years, she has experience working as a chef within the restaurant industry and as a Nutrition Manager in Acute Care, Retirement, and Long Term Care. Amber has experience working as an Ontario Account Manager delivering excellent food-service sales within healthcare.

Amber has been involved in many areas of food service management including front-line supervision, scheduling, dietary care for residents and patients, healthcare sales, and education.

Amber has always been involved in offering assistance to others especially peers in the industry. She believes and keeps up with lifelong learning to better herself both professionally and personally within her career. Amber has been teaching part-time since 2006 “The Food Service Worker” program courses at Centennial College. Amber is the Nutrition Programs Placement Coordinator at Humber College and has been contributing to that position since 2013.  Amber is also a trainer for the Food Safety and Sanitation TrainCan Inc. program which continues to maintain the quality Food Safety and Sanitation standards.

Amber continues to volunteer on several committees within the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM), Ontario Seniors Nutrition and Advocacy Committee (OSNAC), Ontario Food and Nutrition Advisory Team (FNAT), and the Canada IDDSI Reference Group (CIRG). All these committees have a similar outcome that includes helping further advance the food and nutrition industry advocating for person-centred approaches related to the quality of nutrition and care needs that will maintain a person’s quality of life.
